newbie help-accessing a site I get "error loading direc

I am using
Core FTP lite, Win98se, zonealarm, smc router with nat, charter isp

I have the url, the site pw and my user name, and have entered this info in the qiuckconnect part of core ftp. I also have the name of the folder I am looking for, The first time I did not put it in, the seciond time I put it in the "download drop down box window" on the core ftp main screen.
