Ports used by FTP

Hello,

I am trying to use Core FTP to setup a secure (either SFTP or SSL) FTP server in a DMZ.

I am having problems because I want my external firewall to block all but the required ports. I can't seem to get Core FTP to stick to 1 port only and connections are not possible unless most ports are left open as a random port is used after the initial connection.

Can anyone give me advise on how I can make Core FTP stick to 1 port only?

I tried configuring SFTP but it still does not work through the firewall. Its almost like the certificate is being blocked before reaching the client?

Any tips you can give for the configuration would be a great help.
