Can't Establish Connection

Post by lovinthelord »

I'm a newbie to this whole thing. I read 3-4 other threads on this topic and still I couldn't connect. I'm running XP without SP2. This is what I get every time I try to connect:

Resolving "HOST NAME HERE"...
Connect socket #5212 to 67.18.244.178, port 21...
Can't establish connection --> "HOST NAME HERE":21 @ Fri Mar 10 15:06:17 2006 (0-38)

In my firewall settings, I tried connecting with the FTP box checked and unchecked - neither made a difference.

Please help!!!

I tried that and this is what I got:

Initialized AES-256 client->server encryption
Initialized AES-256 server->client encryption
Keyboard-interactive authentication refused
Sent password
Access denied
Unable to initialize SFTP: 潣汵⁤潮⁴潣湮捥t (sftp not enabled?)
Can't establish connection --> "HOST NAME HERE":22 @ Sat Mar 11 00:58:55 2006 (122-1)

so i tried connecting as anonymous and got this:

Looking up host "HOST NAME HERE"
Connecting to 67.18.244.178 port 22
Can't establish connection --> "HOST NAME HERE":22 @ Sat Mar 11 01:02:16 2006 (122-1)

am I doing something wrong??

Contact the people responsible for the server you're trying to upload to (your ISP, hosting service or the like). They should be able to give you exact connection specifications (server name, if the server runs ftp or sftp and on what port to connect).
