BestPratice : CoreFTP Server on a Windows Cluster

Post by Elsinghorst »

I checked the installation on a windows cluster (register as service, add service to cluster resource) and it looks fine. The service can start and stop. The access to the cluster IP works fine.

But we want not to re-invent the wheel ... is there an BestPractice solution available?

BestPratice : CoreFTP Server on a Windows Cluster

Post by Elsinghorst »

my solution:

- install the coreFTP Server on the disk which is a cluster resource and switch with the cluster
- @Node 1: Register coreFTP as windows service, using the start service button
- switch to the next node
- @Node 2: Register coreFTP as windows service, using the start service button
- start cluster management
- select the cluster with the mouse => right click => choose "Add a resource" => select "Generic Service" => choose "Core FTp Server" from the upcoming list

Enjoy.

All users you are add at the coreFTP-Server are available in each cluster node.
The credentials are saved in the "config.dat" in the install directory of coreFTP.
