It seems that CoreFTP ignores files that are opened by applications - even though not exclusively locked.
I cannot see any option to enable "in-use" files to be copied.
For us this is a serious problem as the files we are backing up are Access database files which users have open all the time (they do not bother to close down at night)
However, Access flushes its buffers every few seconds so copying the files at night has never resulted in a corrupt backup.
Copying files that are in use
Thanks. Just did a bit more testing.
File opened by Notepad copies OK - I suspect Notepad does not lock the file in any way.
Files opened by Access or Excel do copy but with a zero length. Just noticed that in the queue the files are still listed but with a status of Failed. The logs do not show any details of failed uploads - should they not?
