dumb question #448

Post by webrador_retriever »

I know this sounds like a dumb question, but I just bought CoreFTP Pro (loved the lite version) and I want to be sure of something:

Which way do the compare/synch buttons work? I want to get a current version of part of my site ftp'd to a new local folder (which is empty). All I need to know is, do I click the local >>>>> button or the remote <<<<< button? Can't find any info in the docs. I really don't want to synch my entire htdocs dir on the remote server into nothing!

Thank you for the prompt reply! If I hadn't have stopped to think about it first, I would have done the right thing :-)

Sorry to bump this 7 year old post, but what is the answer to this question? Which side of the Compare/Synchronize should I click if I want to backup a remote directory (on the right) to my local computer (on the left)? The "Synchronize -->>" (on the left) or the "<<-- Synchronize" (on the right)??

There seems to be a reply that I can't see. The help documentation within Core FTP should be updated to clarify this as well.

Nevermind. I figured it out on my own through trial and error.

To backup a remote FTP folder (on the right) to my local computer (on the left), I use the "<<-- Synchronize" button (on the right).
