Problem with Global Proxy Settings

Post by tboorman »

There appears to be a problem with the Global Proxy Settings in both versions 1.3c and 2.0. The company I work for uses a HTTP 1.1 proxy server, and I have entered the details in the Global Settings. If I try to connect to a site where Use Proxy is shown as a grey tick, Core FTP is unable to connect, but if Use Proxy is shown as a black tick and I enter the proxy details in Advanced Site Settings, there is no problem. If you need any help in diagnosing the cause of this problem, I am happy to assist in whatever way I can.

Yes, I have Wireshark (Ethereal) packet capture files using the global and site specific proxy settings in CoreFTP 2.0 - where should I send them to?

No problem. From the CoreFTP log, it looks like it is trying to use the proxy server from the global settings, but then fails to connect to the FTP server for some reason.

I just installed 2.0 and it still has this problem. I have my proxy settings configured in the global settings, but when I add a site, the proxy settings are not there. If I manually set them per site, it works.

proxy access v 2.0

Post by randysa »

Most of our users are using version 2.0 build 1522 (we now have to use the proxy settings) and now cannot connect, but those users whos still have ver 1.3C can connect (using the same proxy settings as those using ver 2.0). Please advise.
