Fixed - Having problems with compression

Post by jkurrle »

When I try to connect via SFTP to the server with my WSFTP Pro software,
I get the following error:

Failure to agree with SSH server on compatible algorithms
SSH Transport agreed algorithms
Purpose: key agreement Algo: diffie-hellman-group1-sha1
Purpose: server host key Algo: ssh-rsa
Purpose: encryption cs Algo: 3des-cbc
Purpose: encryption sc Algo: 3des-cbc
Purpose: MAC cs Algo: hmac-md5
Purpose: MAC sc Algo: hmac-md5
Purpose: compression cs Algo: invalid
Purpose: compression sc Algo: invalid
Failed SSH Key Exchange

Apparently, The compression algorythms do not match. Is there any way I can disable compression on the server? I connect ok with WinSCP, but I need to make sure a Unix box can connect to it automatically. If compression cannot be disabled, it may be a problem for connecting clients...

I was told Core FTP Server doesn't support compression yet. Is it enabled on the client?

That was it.

I disabled zlib compression in my WSFTP Pro client and all of a sudden I could get in with my client.

Mea Culpa
