Problems with compression (build 1428/1429)

Post by LesD »

I have been trying to zip and transfer a folder. The folder size is about 460 MB and Winzip zips it down to about 340 MB.

CoreFT starts the zipping (as shown in the bottom left hand corner) and gradually seems to get slower.

When it reaches 122,702,912 it stops zipping and starts to transfer the resultant file size of 25,813,492 - which is obviously corrupt and cannot be opened by WinZip.

Help please.
------------------------

Also, the zipping speed seems to be much slower than WinZip.

Also, when the target file already exists, a window opens for a response. This also happens when run from a scheduled task.

The default seems to be overwrite and is actioned after a time-out, but
is there a setting to force it to replace the existing without asking?

Can't do it today but will try ASAP. I have only tested it on one source, so will try different sources.
