Automatic download

Post by wdober01 »

Hello,

I'm using Core FTP Lite (build 1248) on a W2K-Client.
Using the Site Manager I configuered the following site named NAI:
Host: ftp.nai.com
Anonymous: tick
Port: 21
PASV Transfers: tick
Remote Start Folder: pub/antivirus/datfiles/4.x/
Local Start Folder: M:\data\FTP
Advanced - Proxy Settings
HTTP 1.1: tick
Proxy Host: ower own Proxy-Server
Port: 80

Connection is established successfully and the content of the Remote Start Folder is displayed. (see logfile appended)

How can I instruct Core-FTP-Client to load n e w files automatically?

Finally I would like to use a Command Line like
C:\Programme\CoreFTP\coreftp.exe -site NAI -QA
to initiate the Download. But the "-site NAI"-Option shows an Error-Window: No host specified.
But when I specify the host "ftp://ftp.nai.com", the proxy-usage is not selected and working. A connection is not established because I only may use a connection via Proxy-Server.

Please help me.

Kind regards

Wilfried

Hello CP,

thank you for your quick reply. I'm sorry, but the -site operand still doesn't work. I used different commandline constructions:

C:\WINNT\temp>C:\Programme\CoreFTP\coreftp.exe -d ftp://ftp.nai.com/pub/antivirus/datfiles/4.x/* -ON -site NAI

C:\WINNT\temp>C:\Programme\CoreFTP\coreftp.exe -site NAI -u -d ftp://ftp.nai.com/pub/antivirus/datfiles/4.x/* -ON

C:\WINNT\temp>C:\Programme\CoreFTP\coreftp.exe -d ftp://ftp.nai.com/pub/antivirus/datfiles/4.x/* -ON -site NAI -u

However, as the logfile shows, the proxy is not involved:

Started on Monday January 19, 2004 at 10:29:AM

Resolving ftp.nai.com...

Connect socket #584 to 216.49.88.143, port 21...

Can't establish connection --> ftp.nai.com:21 @ Mon Jan 19 10:30:22 2004 (122-5)

Waiting 8 of 61 seconds for retry #1...

Would you please have a look what's going wrong?

Kind regards

Hello CP,

"It's getting better all the time!"

After switching to build 1253 I used the following commandline:

>C:\Programme\CoreFTP\coreftp.exe
-d ftp://ftp.nai.com/pub/antivirus/datfiles/4.x/* -ON -u -p M:\data\FTP
-site NAI

Connection was established using the NAI site-configuration including the HTTP-Proxy. CoreFTP switched to the source folder and wanted to start a download of a file with 1206 Bytes. I got this information from a tiny window named "Current". Immediately after this a window with header "Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library" showed the following:

Runtime Error!

Programm: C:\Programme\CoreFTP\coreftp.exe

This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information.

That's what I'm doing right now.

Hope you find a solution.

Hello CP,

Sorry, but I didn't want to use the -u option. I don't need upload.

Now I installed build 1254 and found, that the only problem is the usage of wildcards. I tested with your FTP-Site.

Using the following commandline worked fine:

C:\Programme\CoreFTP\coreftp.exe -d ftp://ftp.ftpware.com/log.txt
-ON -p M:\data\FTP -site CORE

Using the following commandline caused a problem:

C:\Programme\CoreFTP\coreftp.exe -d ftp://ftp.ftpware.com/*.*
-ON -p M:\data\FTP -site CORE

The error was nearly the same I described yesterday. It is the runtime error within Visual C++.

Hello CP,

using build 1255 still shows the Visual C++ error.
I made a sceenshot and stored it in a Word-Document.
When you are interested to see this, then please tell me how to send this Doc to you.

Kind regards

Wilfried
