slow download/upload speed
slow download/upload speed
I have installed the latest coreftp server build on my server and ran into an issue where it downloads at around 140k/s and does not go higher. I then moved the server so I was sending/receiving on a gigE network and still the same issues. When I do a file copy the speed is very very fast but with the ftp its very very slow. Does this have anything to do with not registering the server? Are their limits when you dont register? Before I register I need to know the answer to this issue because clients will not be able to deal with such speeds. Thank you.
Try upping the send/receive buffer sizes in the domain setup to 8092/8092. The license won't make any difference.
the bad past was that I already did that and it didnt help. Would I need to switch that and reboot? I stopped and started the ftp server but would i needed a reboot or something else for it to take effect?
I've been looking into the SFTP speed issue. There are things that do limit many cases of SSH/SFTP due to the underlying SSH protocol (being an ACK/NAK type protocol). However, most of these issues can be circumvented by the client. There are solutions available so we'll try to get those into the Core FTP client asap, and make adjustments to the server to increase speed.
sounds great - thanks a lot.

Speed Issues
Hi all,
I'm also having speed issues but I wish mine were as high as jwaggz82. Mine are down ~28k/s as a standard.
I've tried increasing the buffer size but that didn't do anything.
Just wondering if there has been any movement on the speed issue??

read the other post .... i just posted stating that who knows when there will be an update on things. its a known problem which they just did not bring up ....but knew about. The buffer size had no change at all ... its the encryption and decryption of the transfer. The way the data is being handled by the application is the issue.
