Clear Command Channel support

I've searched the forum and I haven't come across any matches so forgive me if I've missed something. I'm new to this client but my question revolves around clear command channel support. I'm curious if this is supported in the coreftp client. I haven't been able to locate a preference setting where I can disable it. My ftp server only supports clear command channel when you connect to it with ftp over ssl. Does anyone know?
