Hangs after large file transfers

I often have to upload large tiff files to various ftp sites. These files are 35MB. The files seem to transfer fine until the very end. The status will show 100% percent but will then just sit there until I tell it to pause the queue. Then it shows the transfer as completed. Ideas?
