We upgraded to the latest version of Core FTP and set up auto-ban. Seconds to Ban was 0 and Failed Attempts Before Ban = 15.
Unfortunately, 1 client had problems connecting because of issues with SSH Pub Cert no longer working which lead to them being banned after "n" attempts to login. Has anybody else had similar issues?
The log shows "ip is temporarily banned". Does anybody know how long this "temporary" ban is in place for? if "seconds to ban" = 0, does that mean the IP is banned for 0 seconds? or does it mean the IP is permanently banned? Can I see a list of banned IP addresses? Can I changed banned IP addresses?
Any help would be appreciated.
How does auto-ban work?
if "0" is specified, the ban time will increase on each attempt made after the ban (1 minute, then 2, 4, and exponentially higher after that - this may be build specific and may be modified in newer builds).
The ban holds until the ban timeout has been reached or the server has been restarted. There should be an option to view a list of banned IPs and ability to change those settings soon -- that option should have been added long ago.
