Exporting server configuration and users

Post by champion »

I am in the process of moving my Core FTP server from a Windows XP box to a ProLiant server running Server 2003.

I'd like to export my configuration, including the users we have set up so that things will be as transparent to the users as possible. I know this can be done because I once had the instructions on how to do it and did do this back in 2007. I've searched the forums in vain and can't find that information again.

Thank you in advance.

Copy the CoreFTPServer\config.dat file

Also the CoreFTPServer\certs\ subdirectory.

You may need to import certificates back into Windows directly for SSL/FTPS (under the domain -> certificate -> right pane -> right click -> Manage certificates.

(SSH/SFTP certs are read in directly and don't need to be re-imported).

Additionally for licensed users:

Once the configuration has been moved over, (on the original server) go into Core FTP Server -> System Menu -> Global Options -> Register -> Remove license. Once the license has been removed, it can be re-applied on the new server.
