Encryption of your files with FTP

Post by Wombat »

hmm, reading this chapter, when I upload encrypted html/script files, I think they are rendered useless for any html browser?
I must miss something!

How can this make sense? :?

Files are encrypted so others can not view them. This way, if someone hacks your ftp account or circumvents web security, they won't be able to use the data. It's a secondary way to protect your data from being viewed by anyone except those who are supposed to use it.
