there were no SFTP packets in the wireshark trace. Good chance there was no connection to the server at all. You may need to plug in your hostname or IP into Options -> IP/Address. if you have a client side log available (similar to sftp -v in Ubuntu), provide that log.

Chances are it is key authentication being sent by your program when it doesn't need to, or it could be unsupported ciphers.

It does, if they exceed the max conns per IP it ads an immediate temporary ban. The first ban should be short, less than one minute, and after that it would be cleared.

If the user is repeatedly trying to connect while banned and exceeding the connection limit, the ban will multiply exponentially.

If there are spaces in the path, you might need quotes around the entire destination (ie: "c:\your path\logfile")

The path does have to exist, and double check permissions for the Windows account running the task.

Try adding CoreFTPServer\coresrvr.exe as a firewall exception.

Make sure you can connect locally on the machine - if you can that usually indicates a firewall issue.

This isn't really a recommended option, but try adding:

-monitor 120

to the command line. This will kill the process if nothing happens after 120 seconds. Then check and see if there is any output in the log file.

I don't think there is an option for domain (Windows accounts) users in this scenario if you are using key authentication only. Their public key would need to be in the keys file.

Try checking the View -> Options -> General -> Save file list sort order

Exit Core FTP and restart.

Every once in a while this issue has popped up but it hasn't been reproducible - wondering if this setting has something to do with it.

The only way to do it for domain users would be to create a "group" (under user settings). You could alternatively create one user that has these settings and then select it under the "Core FTP base user". For this user you could put all keys into one pub key file (one per line)....
