Why do downloads fail?
Are there any standard reasons for failures of CoreFTP to download files? I have logging=on, and there are no hints in either of the two on-screen logs. It just downloads 0 bytes for non-empty files and displays "Failed" in the log. This happens for some sites and not for others. I've look...

Is there a Core FTP setting that affects transfer speed?
A 2 MB file uploads very slowly on my Windows XP computer to a website and downloads quickly on my Windows 8.1 computer. I have set the Core FTP buffer size to 8192 at both computers.
I know that upload baud is less than download baud for my cable provider, but this speed difference is ridiculous.

Transfer button changes from Upload to Pending

Failure to use configuration file instead of registry
I like Core FTP a lot, even though it is highly sensitive to changes in its configuration data and will stop working if some values are accidentally changed. Anyway... I have tried several times over many years to use View -> Options -> Data -> Use default configuration file, as described in the doc...

No, I don't
No, I resist all the requests I get from Windows to upgrade. I will stay with 8 until I hear that 8.1 has its bugs fixed. Microsoft is always too busy making money to do quality engineering or to fix bugs. Does anyone here know whether this is also a known FTP problem in Windows 8? My workaround is ...

All downloads fail for me under Windows 8
All attempts to download files are reported as failing. Uploads work perfectly. Have tried several different remote connections to the same server. These connections worked perfectly under Windows XP. The log says: "a1_.php - 0 bytes transferred in 0 seconds Transfer time: 00:00:00" Cannot...
