I just encountered a strange condition.
I loaded a new version of what was an already working webpage in PHP.
A few hours ago, I had done the same with normal results.
When I went to test this new file, I got an error that a file to be included was not available. I had done nothing to change or remove that file.
I connected with CoreFTP LE to discover the file was very much there - listed in the directory contents. First, I tried to use the view function, but it errored out saying the file didn't exist. I looked at the Permissions, and it told me they were the same as all the other files, 604. I tried to set the permissions to 644 just to test - again, Core told me the file didn't exist.
I called the host, GoDaddy, who told me there were no files by that name, and then I opened their web based ftp, and didn't see the files either (there were 2 files with that issue it turns out). I looked for an update and found 1689 up from 1687, loaded it and still the 2 files were showing in the Core listing.
Finally, I used another machine running CoreFTP LE 2.0 1507, and these 2 files were not showing in the list.
So, where did these files come from over and over again on the file list, yet don't seem to exist, but should have been there all along? Surely CoreFTP has a bug, and is caching the file list.

[b]I couldn't send this when I composed it about 12 hours ago due to your unreasonable restriction against sending too quickly. It appropriately addresses a different topic from the thread I added to just before composing this error. Your restrictions are counter productive to CoreFTP and your users by delaying important information. I am now going to post a follow up here as I will not be able to make it a separate entry! I have been a fan and paying customer of CoreFTP for some years now, but instead of improving your product, you have regressed.[/b]
I just transferred a replacement file to my web host, but the file listing shows both files, with 2 different timestamps. Using an older version on another computer, the old file doesn't show in the file list. This is yet another case where file caching is buggy.
Why is BBcode & HTML turned off, when my profile has them on?
