Problems with download, re: password

I have downloaded coreftp and have followed the instructions (im a novice) to creating and downloading info to my new website. The only problem is my password login is incorrect. How do I fix this problem????

Recheck the information your web host provider sent you. What happens a lot is that people try connecting to the wrong FTP server (wrong address) and they can't login.
