Weird rename 'issue'

Post by chrisjlocke »

If I select a file and press [F2] then a little box appears (like a very large textbox) in the bottom right of the screen which allows me to edit the filename.

However, if I click a filename once to select it, and once more, the selection changes to grey, and it appears to be in 'edit your file' mode, except the rename box doesn't appear.

If I press the keys I normally would to edit the file (eg, [END], blah [ENTER]) then the file gets renamed as expected! Bizarre...

So, long winded way of saying, click a file twice ala Explorer to edit a file, and the rename box doesn't appear.

This is in build 1420.01

 Can't think of anything more simple than 'Clicking a file twice (not double clicking) doesn't let me rename the file'...

I can show a screenshot, but I don't believe its gonna show much - a box that isn't there!

Actually, I pulled out my copy of Wink, and used that (SWF presentation thingy).

Guess as no-one else has mentioned it, it must either be something bizarre with my setup, or no-one else renames files!! (well, by clicking files twice)
Thankfully its only a 'niggle' as F2 works fine.

Thanks again for the quick response. Image
