I am trying to publish sites from my mac using Core FTP on Virtual PC (to emulate windows, because i cannot seem to find a good mac publishing program) and have a problem, hopefully you all can help.
I have no problem at all uploading my webpages, however the problem comes when I try to upload larger files, such as PDF's. The PDF's still are anything but large (55 kb), but Core FTP cannot handle them; it will upload maybe 15% of the file, then will not budge. The transfer rate stops and the entire file just waits until it times out.
Like i said, it has no problem with publishing the webpages, but will not upload PDF's. Maybe it is a problem in Virtual PC, however it publishes pages with no problem but has a hard time with PDFs.
Any thoughts??
Core FTP in Virtual PC?
I've had good luck with larger files
Granted I'm not using a virtual PC, but frequently upload 400MB-1GB files without a problem. At least without a problem that I pin on CoreFTP. My aDSL upload speed is limited so a 1GB file takes a while. Since CoreFTP (an FTP limitation I believe) can't restart a transfer in the middle, any problems with communications means restarting.
