OK;
using coreftp LE version 2.0 build 1539 (downloaded today)
connecting to an sftp site set up the following in SITE MANAGER:
port 22 timeout 60 retries 2
SSH/SFTP box is checked.
Click the ADVANCE button. click on the DIRECTORY/FOLDER option, then enter a remote start folder... the user has full control access (and delete subfiles and folders permission) for the root of the FTP site... however, i want to set their remote start folder to one folder deeper (even though the user has access to the ROOT site as well)... so i set the remote start folder to \folder1\ and check the ABS box. click OK. connect to the site.
the user can upload files, download files, but if they try to delete a file, they get the error message PERMISSION DENIED.
Go back into the site manager, click on the profile created above, navigate to the DIRECTORY/FOLDER advanced site setting and REMOVE the remote start folder and UNCHECK the ABS box. then click ok, then CONNECT to connect to the site. now, manually navigate to the folder you tried to set as the REMOTE START FOLDER above, and attempt to delete the same file you tried to delete above....
PRESTO. it works...
but shouldn't it have worked in the first case too where we just specified a a remote start folder for the user?
curious permissions error
who dun it?
you dun it!
thanks for your help
that works like a charm
so it wants UNIX style directories instead of win style... funny... the FTP server i am connecting to is a windows FTP server, and the / slash works for other clients (such as filezilla)
