not connecting, right window pane displaying intermittantly

Hi Friends, I'm getting this message when trying to connect to my site:

I'm not positive that it's CoreFTP and not my site but the thing is that the right side window pane of the program sometimes goes blank right after connecting and won't show any of the icons (ie. move, delete, etc.). Then if you click in that area and you happen to click on a file or a button it'll display... very strange...

any ideas?
