Email Notification

Post by diptyj »

Hi,
I downloaded the trial version of FTP pro. I am facing problem with the email notification.

Have setup up the email information and the server information in Advanced notification but the email notification still fails.

My ourgoing server is smtp.secureserver.net. I get the message
Connection timed out
Notification failed

Is there a place we need to update the SSL Port.

Thank you for your help.

Kind regards,

Dipty

Figured out the problem and am posting it, if it can be of help to anyone else. The notifications work only on email address with the internet service provider like verizon or road runner. They do not work on yahoo/hotmail/gmail account.

Tried inputting the server and userid and password for my verizon account and it worked perfectly.

Thank you

Dipty

for services like Hotmail and Gmail, use

smtp.gmail.com:465 (465 is the port number).

If it doesn't detect a secure connection automatically try checking the "Auth Login" option.
