Prevent Linux Hidden Files From Displaying

Is there an easy way to prevent the hidden files on a Linux server from being dispalyed in the site file/directory listing??? I am using Core FTP Lite 2.0 Build 1507 and Fedora with SSH/SFTP.

Don't want the following displayed:
.kde
.ssh
.bash_history
etc...

Thanks!!!
